The best restaurant in town

Our Story

Our Story is one of food, family and fun. I started washing dishes in my Dad’s restaurants at age 10, I would go in on the weekends with him and my older brother and he would pay me to do dishes. So, I’ve been in this business my whole life. My wife Elena grew up a good portion of her life in Santa Fe, New Mexico where there is no shortage of outstanding Chef inspired restaurants which is where Elena found her working legs as a top notch server. In fact we met working at an Italian Restaurant in Denver, Colorado in 1991, me as the head Bartender and Elena as a server. We were married that next year. I received most of my practical and formal training in the kitchen between 1976-1995 and have run several excellent kitchens. In 1998 we moved to Mesa, Arizona with an 11 month old girl, Jacquelyn, and a 6 month old boy, Joshua. Shortly thereafter, Elena and I left our jobs to pursue a janitorial cleaning company cleaning primarily, you guessed it, restaurants. We started this new venture with a window bucket, a shammy, and a squeegee and 0 idea of how it would turn out, 17 years later our company did all the window cleaning, pressure washing, high dusting, front of the house and back of the house floors for 1200 restaurants from Flagstaff to Casa Grande, with 25+ employees and 7-8 service vehicles. Elena and I were blessed 3 years ago with opportunity to open our first restaurant venture in Florida with my two brothers, which really ignited my passion to finally try my hand at the recipes I’ve been massing for 40 years in the industry. It was such a blessing to sell this business and have a chance to pursue my lifelong passion of food and good times, plus I finally get to scratch my itch of owning and running a unique and creative destination restaurant with a great bar. This brings us to Red Mountain Bar & Grill, a vision my wonderful wife and I have shared for years and now hope to share with all of you.
